Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, visiting Manama for the ninth round of the Russia-Gulf Cooperation Council Strategic Dialogue, was received by King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. President Vladimir Putin and the king spoke by phone, backing a political and diplomatic settlement of the situation around Iran and agreeing to deepen trade, economic, financial and investment cooperation.
