Culture‘An extraordinary life’: descendant welcomes biography of woman ‘gifted’ to Queen Victoria

Bayo Randle, Sarah Forbes Bonetta’s great-great-grandson, reflects on a new biography of her life. Born Àìná, Bonetta was taken to England after her family was killed and became Queen Victoria’s protege; the book also examines her place in imperial imagery and the system of indentured labor.
