Politics‘I felt disgusted’: MEP speaks out over nude deepfakes and urges EU action

Austrian Green MEP Lena Schilling said nude deepfakes made from her images without consent were “digital violence against women” and a threat to democracy. A report found 50 MEPs, 46 of them women, had been targeted by sexualised deepfakes. A letter initiated by Schilling and German Green MEP Terry Reintke, signed by 119 MEPs, urged the EU to ensure its forthcoming ban is backed by enforcement measures.
