SocietyMasked lapwing nests on Tasmanian cricket ground as play goes on

A masked lapwing is incubating eggs in the middle of Windsor Park oval near Launceston, seemingly unbothered by weekend cricket matches. Locals nicknamed it “Faf Swoop Plessis.” As the species is protected under Tasmanian law, staff mow around the nest and players keep their distance.
