EconomyChina weighs export curbs on AI, biomedicine and solar technologies

Chinese authorities have opened public consultation on revising the export control list to include AI, biomedicine and photovoltaic technologies. The commerce and science ministries proposed changes covering 40 technologies in three sectors, and exporters would need to register them before shipment. Consultation runs through November 15, 2026.
