US Representative Gregory Meeks introduced legislation on Oct. 16 to block the Trump administration’s plan to import Russian diesel. It would bar the DFC from investing in Russian energy products, require sanctions on Russian fuel and void existing Treasury licenses. Meeks said the deal would not lower costs for Americans and would give Putin money to keep killing Ukrainian civilians.
