EconomyGas injection into Europe’s underground storage facilities slows

Gas injection into Europe’s underground storage facilities is rapidly slowing as temperatures fall and prices rise. Storage has reached 74% of the volume required for the coming winter. On October 14, facilities were 74.1% full, 14.85 percentage points below the five-year average and the lowest level for that date since tracking began in 2011. The EU’s target is 90% between October 1 and December 1, with 10% flexibility in difficult conditions.
