EconomyNovak says EU criticism of diesel deal runs counter to consumer interests
Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak told the Russian Energy Week forum that EU criticism of Russian diesel supplies harms European consumers. He said costs rose after Europe moved away from stable, affordable Russian energy, while businesses relocated or closed. Novak said Russia had supplied Europe with $320 billion in energy since 2022 and remained ready to honor contracts, some running until 2035–2040.
