TechMeta’s new terms may let it train AI on news sites for free

Meta’s terms, effective October 30, appear to let it crawl websites associated with businesses using its platforms and use their content to develop and train AI products. The policy covers business accounts promoting content on Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Messenger. Nieman Lab says it could let Meta bypass licensing deals; businesses that reject the terms may lose commercial access to Meta products.
