Scammers pose on dating sites as women supposedly trapped in Russian-occupied Ukraine, using false identities, stolen photos and fabricated materials to persuade foreign men to send money. The Kyiv Independent reviewed 58 cases referred to the charity Helping to Leave, which says it has received around 200 such requests in four years.
