EconomyRussia’s freight turnover grows, central bank says
Russia’s freight turnover rose 0.2% in the first eight months of 2026 from a year earlier, the Bank of Russia said. Growth was recorded across transport modes except pipelines and inland waterways. While southern ports saw a decline, cargo turnover in the Far East increased significantly from April, driven by higher energy exports to Asia and the rerouting of some maritime deliveries.
