A Citizen Lab investigation found that Israeli ad-tech company Discover-Tech bought advertisements carrying Candiru spyware and directed it onto dozens of devices used by Al Jazeera and other companies. The researchers called it the first-known case of targeted advertising used for a “zero-click” attack.
