Madagascar’s Ministry of Public Health confirmed four plague cases and reported five more suspected cases. Confirmed cases were found north of Antananarivo, while suspected cases were reported in the southeast. Two hundred contacts are being closely monitored and have received preventive treatment. Authorities have increased surveillance, contact tracing and insecticide spraying, and urged the public to follow prevention measures.
