TechPoor security enabled fridge hack causing millions in losses and fires

A mass hack disrupted refrigeration systems at an estimated 700 supermarkets in France, spoiling perishables and, in some cases, causing fires. Attackers compromised internet-connected controllers and activated defrosters, raising temperatures as high as 50°C. The affected controller models had critical vulnerabilities that could allow remote logins with administrator rights.
