TechAndroid uses AI to spot scammers in Google Messages

Android is adding scam defenses, including an opt-in enhanced protection setting in Google Messages that uses cloud-based Gemini to assess conversations with unknown senders. On-device Gemini Nano will check unfamiliar links. Google also announced call-forwarding and screen-sharing safeguards and plans to expand scam detection to more phone brands.
