EconomyUK economy forecast to grow this year before energy costs rise in 2027

The IMF forecasts UK growth of 1.3% in 2026, up from its July estimate of 1%, but expects higher energy prices and interest rates to slow the economy in 2027. Chancellor John Healey said the government would seek to give households “some breathing space” in the budget.
