EconomyTrump’s Russian diesel deal unlikely to shift US oil markets much: analysis

Maximilian Hess, a Foreign Policy Research Institute fellow and founder of Enmetena Advisory, said from London that Donald Trump’s diesel deal with Vladimir Putin would not meaningfully affect US oil markets. The initial 300,000 tons would amount to less than a day of US transport diesel use, with further shipments covering only a few days. Russia’s ability to deliver is uncertain, as it has not exported diesel since July.
