TechAustralia’s AI backlash grows over jobs, data breaches and data centres

OpenAI and Anthropic executives faced sharp questioning at a parliamentary inquiry in Sydney this week on data breaches, safety and copyright, as public distrust of AI grows. Voice actor Simon Kennedy, who says companies replaced him with AI after 30 years in the business, founded the 300-member Australian Voice Actors Association. He called for mandatory labelling of AI voices and identity rights.
