TechUN General Assembly: Singapore calls for common international rules and safeguards on AI

Singapore is urgently calling for shared international rules and safeguards for artificial intelligence, including a proposed UN framework convention on AI safety. Speaking at the General Assembly in New York, Foreign Affairs Minister Vivian Balakrishnan also defended multilateralism amid a more fragmented world shaped by wars, great-power rivalry and climate change.
