TechHumanoid robot sales: 90,000 units estimated to ship this year

Bank of America Global Research estimates that about 90,000 humanoid robots will ship worldwide this year. The International Federation of Robotics said roughly 7,000 were sold globally last year, with most purchased by institutions and companies to develop and improve AI models rather than work alongside people. Under its definition, a humanoid robot has a human-like appearance and can operate autonomously in human-designed environments; legs are optional.
