Dr Filippo Dionigi of the University of Bristol says the main barrier to Hezbollah disarming is not only the Lebanese state's military capacity, but the lack of a political settlement that could make disarmament legitimate and lasting. More funding and weapons for the Lebanese Armed Forces would not address that fundamental problem.
