Five people familiar with the matter say US officials met representatives of Yemen’s Houthis in Oman over the weekend. The reported talks came days after the Iran-backed militia seized a strategic section of Red Sea coastline in a broad offensive that routed Saudi-backed forces. President Donald Trump has so far rejected Saudi appeals for military help against the Houthis.
