WorldAmnesty says Iran committed ‘crimes against humanity’ in protest crackdown

Amnesty International said Wednesday that Iranian authorities committed crimes against humanity during the crackdown on 2022 protests that killed hundreds. It said Tehran’s suppression of new demonstrations this year showed the “same hallmarks” on a larger scale, and called for an international criminal justice mechanism to prosecute those responsible.
