WorldTaiwan conducts first MQ-9B SeaGuardian test flight to monitor China’s ‘gray-zone’ activity

The U.S.-sold MQ-9B SeaGuardian drone made its first flight test in eastern Taiwan on Sept. 14. Taiwan says the aircraft’s main role will be intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, including monitoring Chinese navy and coast guard vessels engaged in “gray-zone” activity around Taiwan, rather than offensive operations.
