Society‘Never mistake our generosity for weakness,’ Chrétien says at 9/11 memorial

Former Canadian prime minister Jean Chrétien told ‘our American friends’ that Canadians are tolerant and kind, but said those qualities should not be mistaken for a lack of determination or softness. He spoke in Gander, N.L., at a ceremony marking the 25th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks, attended by U.S. Ambassador Pete Hoekstra.
