SocietyEU primary student-teacher ratio falls to 13.3 as decade-long growth falters

The EU had 23.2 million primary students in 2024, a 0.2% decline from the previous year. Numbers were still 2.9% higher than in 2014, but national trends diverged sharply: Luxembourg and Slovenia recorded the strongest growth, while Poland, Croatia and Portugal saw major falls.
