WorldNepal death toll passes 1,000 as rescuers search mud-filled tunnels

Nepal’s disaster agency says the death toll from devastating floods on the border with Tibet has passed 1,000. More than 3,900 people are missing, including over 600 workers believed trapped in mud-filled tunnels at hydropower sites along the Trishuli River. A rescue team entered one tunnel but pulled out after finding no-one.
