This year’s National Day Rally announced additional childcare leave, lower childcare-centre costs and greater financial support through the new Singapore Child Support Package. The measures reflect the Government’s effort to offer families longer-term help, but it remains uncertain whether they will persuade parents balancing full-time work and family life to have another child, or keep people without children from feeling left behind.
