EconomyUS tariffs on Canada put jobs and trade at risk

The US is imposing 50 percent tariffs on about $20bn of Canadian imports, including alcohol, dairy, furniture, cement, clothing and hockey equipment. Given the economies’ close ties, the measures could raise prices for US consumers and leave Canadian producers facing higher costs or weaker demand.
