Much of Europe is experiencing its fifth heatwave of the summer, with temperatures reaching 40 degrees Celsius in parts of France. Extreme weather is also affecting the oceans: global average sea temperatures hit a record 21 degrees Celsius last month. Emma Howard Boyd of the Grantham Research Institute shares further insights.
