PoliticsDemocratic establishment strikes back as Crowley defeats Hong in Wisconsin

The Democratic establishment regrouped in Wisconsin on Tuesday, with party forces uniting at the last moment behind the remaining moderate candidate. Their aim was to block democratic socialist Francesca Hong in the gubernatorial primary. CNN’s Decision Desk projects that Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley will narrowly defeat Hong. Crowley had withdrawn from the contest last month, but returned after another prominent candidate left the race. His victory reflects a primary electorate shaped by an ongoing presidential battle.
