WorldWhat Colombia’s earthquake means for its fight against rebels and gangs

Rescue teams are continuing to look for survivors after one of Colombia’s most severe earthquakes in years. More than 200 people have been confirmed dead, while hundreds are injured. Cali is among the cities hit hardest, shortly after hosting the inauguration of newly elected President Abelardo de la Espriella. The right-wing populist, who received an endorsement from US President Donald Trump, has pledged to crack down on drug gangs and armed rebel groups. The disaster comes as that security agenda faces a major test.
