WorldColombia quake death toll surpasses 240

The death toll from Monday’s magnitude 7.4 earthquake in western Colombia has climbed beyond 200. Rescuers are racing to locate people believed trapped under collapsed buildings. A 32-year-old woman was brought out alive from the rubble on Tuesday, while many others are still missing. The disaster represents the first major challenge for President Abelardo de la Espriella, who took office last Friday. France 24 spoke with Maria Clara Calle in Cali, one of the cities affected.
