WorldFast-moving wildfire engulfs hills in western Canada

A rapidly advancing wildfire in western Canada almost doubled in size overnight, prompting evacuation orders for thousands of people in British Columbia’s wine and orchard region on Saturday. The Bald Range fire was burning out of control across roughly 9,500 hectares. Authorities ordered evacuations in Summerland, Peachland and other districts west of Okanagan Lake. The Canadian government stepped in as residents were forced to flee the spreading blaze.
