CultureAmanda Knox reflects on a comedy show about her life after a murder accusation

Amanda Knox says her young daughter inspired “Cartwheel,” a comedy show about her life that is being presented at the Edinburgh Fringe. In the performance, she considers how to explain to her children the events that shaped her. Knox was accused in connection with the 2007 murder of her British flatmate in Italy, but she was fully acquitted in 2015. The show revisits the period after that murder accusation through Knox’s reflections on her past, her family and the difficulty of discussing life-changing events with her children. It connects the origins of the performance to her daughter while keeping the focus on how she understands and shares the experiences that shaped her life.
