WorldYouth-led rallies sweep Europe

Protests in France have inspired youth demonstrations in Portugal, Italy and Germany, among other countries. Germany saw especially large rallies on Saturday, led by an initiative whose name roughly means “Gen Z has got this.” Protesters demanded better education and healthcare, stronger climate protection and a lower cost of living, while opposing a return to compulsory military service. Demonstrations in several major German cities turned violent.
