WorldFrance braces for third weekend of protests

France is preparing for a third weekend of demonstrations, deploying 70,000 security personnel to prevent a repeat of the violence on October 17. Shops have boarded up, and authorities warn of possible clashes, with masked demonstrators on Halloween adding to concern. The protests began over living costs and poor school conditions and have expanded to calls for greater civil liberties and the right to protest.
