WorldUS-Japan Keen Sword 2027 exercise to deploy two advanced anti-ship missile systems

The multinational Keen Sword 2027 exercise opened on October 19 on Japan’s Ishigaki Island, with about 57,000 US and Japanese personnel and forces from several other countries taking part. Japan will deploy its 1,000-kilometer-range Type 25 anti-ship missile outside its Kumamoto base for the first time, while the US plans to deploy the NMESIS anti-ship system and an air-defense system on Yonaguni Island.
