    IMF backs global central bank rate hikes, Georgieva says

    The IMF strongly supports benchmark rate increases by central banks worldwide, Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva said. She said a prudently hawkish monetary policy stance may suit many countries and called recent rate hikes and firm messaging by the Fed, ECB and Bank of Japan appropriate.
