> France’s National Assembly is voting on a broad bill to address sexual and gender-based violence, after public outrage over the rape and murder of 11-year-old Lyhanna. It proposes stronger investigations, specialist police units and courts, and dedicated help for child victims. Campaigners and lawmakers say funding is uncertain, and budget concerns have led to several measures being dropped.
