PoliticsU.S. Justice Department searches Democratic lawmaker Ilhan Omar’s Washington home

The Justice Department said law enforcement officers searched the Washington home of Minnesota Democratic Representative Ilhan Omar early Monday as part of an ongoing investigation into alleged immigration fraud. A Reuters source said some of the inquiry concerns immigration application papers her late father completed when she was young. Omar called the search an attempt to target political opponents and weaponize federal law enforcement.
