Hurricane Simon brought heavy rain and flooding to Mexico’s west-central Pacific coast as it moved closer to shore Sunday, with maximum winds exceeding 230 kilometres per hour. Cleanup continued in Florida’s Panhandle and the southern US after Isaias killed four people. Downgraded to a post-tropical cyclone, Isaias triggered flash flooding in North Carolina and spawned two tornadoes in Georgia.
