WorldHurricane Simon strengthens to Category 4 off Mexico

Hurricane Simon is approaching Mexico’s Pacific coast, bringing torrential rain and sustained winds of up to 240 kilometres per hour. The US National Hurricane Center expects it to become a major hurricane on Sunday near Mexico’s west-central coast and move very close to shore on Monday. Early Sunday, Simon was about 96.56 kilometres west-southwest of Manzanillo.
