Canada lost jobs for a second consecutive month, with 68,000 positions cut in September. Some losses were in manufacturing, but most were in the public sector, including education, health care and social assistance. Stelco is expected to lay off 500 Ontario workers in the coming weeks. Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre called on the prime minister to do more to help.
