> Taiwan holds the Republic of China’s 115th National Day ceremony on 10 October, with President Lai Ching-te due to deliver a speech. November’s local elections will test the Democratic Progressive Party’s record in office, while Taiwan has also figured intermittently in recent US-China exchanges; Lai’s response is expected to draw attention.
