> Green Party leader Zack Polanski finished second in the Holborn and St Pancras by-election in north London, where Labour won the seat vacated by former Prime Minister Keir Starmer. Polanski said he would remain leader. The Greens made strong gains under him, taking nearly a third of the vote in a Labour stronghold—the party’s second-best result in a UK by-election. Former leader Caroline Lucas said his leadership had “transformed the party”.
