> Tensions rose in Brussels as police faced trade union members and young people protesting for better education conditions. Fires burned in the streets, protesters threw objects at police and added bins, traffic signs and electric bikes to the flames. Police used water cannons as clashes intensified. Many young demonstrators said protests in neighbouring France had inspired them.
