SocietyUS defence secretary says firing-squad execution will be livestreamed

US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth said the public will be able to watch former US Army major Nidal Hasan’s execution by firing squad. Hasan, who killed 13 unarmed US soldiers at Fort Hood in 2009, is expected to be executed on 3 December. Hegseth said people need to understand the serious consequences of such acts and described the livestream decision as unprecedented.
