PoliticsFrance’s education minister pledges 3,000 extra teachers to quell protests

France’s nationwide student protests continued on Thursday, with further clashes between demonstrators and police. The education minister pledged to deploy 3,000 substitute teachers “within the next hours” to help struggling high schools.
