EconomyCanada announces $2B for energy-efficient upgrades to 1 million homes

The federal government is investing $2 billion to help fund energy-efficient retrofits in one million Canadian homes. The latest version of its greener homes program will help households install electric heat pumps. Mark Carney said in Sherbrooke, Quebec, that more than a million households still heat with oil, propane or diesel, fuels he described as more polluting and less efficient.
